He attended The Australian Theatre for Young People at the Sydney Theatre Company from age 12. It was here he developed a love for theatre and performance, earning roles in Richard Tullochs Year 9 R Animals, and Down Under The Thumb alongside Tony Helou (Dogs in Space. As a 14 year old, David created the iconic Triple J Breakfast persona of 'Dave from Dulwich Hill'.
