biography
During high school, Marie was very active in taking part in school plays and taking drama classes outside of the school curriculum. Most of these performances took place on stage, with Marie taking on roles in James and the Giant Peach (playing James), I Never Saw Another Butterfly, Pressure, Two Weeks with the Queen, Oliver! and Return To The Forbidden Planet.
In 2014, Marie returned to acting in order to see more scripts and thus become a better screenwriter. She took up classes at Screen Actors Australia in West Melbourne, where she trained in screen acting and improvised acting.
Since 2014, Marie has appeared on Neighbours, Winners & Losers, TVCs and various short films made by students from RMIT and VCA. In 2017, Pirating A Film IRL, which Marie produced and performed a lead character in, won first prize at the UnScene Film Competition. The competition was run by Village Cinemas and Open Channel, and Marie's team won $10,000 to put towards their next film projects.
In that same year, a film produced by Marie, which she also had a small acting role in, Flicker, won the audience choice award at the Melbourne 48 Hour Film Project.
In 2019, Marie trained in Screen Acting Techniques through several courses at NIDA Open in Southbank, Melbourne. During this time, Marie also participated in a sketch comedy group, Skit Happens, which involved writing and performing sketches in front of a live audience.
